Judging from the responses I got, I did not make myself clear on my earlier post. I have a 1938 F20 which has cast iron wheels, similar to the letter series farmalls, and demountable rims for rubber tires, also like the later farmalls. The question was if the rims (not wheels)were silver or red from the factory. I also noticed something very strange today. This tractor was painted green. It has very old decals over the green paint, but I thought someone had just painted it green and applied decals. I took the clutch out today, and when I removed the Ujoint, I found green paint on the Ujoint center link, UNDER the bolt heads. So that part was green before it was assembled. So either someone had this tractor all apart to paint it long ago, or it was always green. Has anyone ever heard of a farmall F20 painted green?
