You may need a puller to remove drum. Penetrating oil and heat will help also. Lay a straight edge across braking surface of drum, if it's worn more than 1/32, have it turned. This will make a big difference in braking.*Don't forget to replace the bull pinion seals that drum runs in.* New seals are thinner than the original ones,so two per side can be used & is recommended.No need to paint anything inside, your choice.
