With mine I have to have the throttle set all the way in otherwise it'll flood. I set the manifold to the middle setting. Half way on the mag, and use half turns. When I start hearing oil moving in the air filter it's getting ready to fire. I don't use priming strokes, just floods mine. GOOD LUCK.
