I just installed a dual speed into a 1566, should be the same situation except for the control linkage. You must swap the nose (input shaft & pump held on by 4 bolts 3/8). On the 1566 I used a cab type control linkage from a 1066. The 86 series is different and I'm not shure what has to be done, you may have to change out the linkage from any 86 series smaller tractors.
