240 Just won't run

The other day I parked my 240, a half an hour later I got on and it just wont go. I got nothing. The starter button won't work. No compression, since I can turn it over by hand. I am just stumped by this one. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I have tried to bypass the starter button, bu nothing no spark, the points won't fire. Nothing. Thanks for any help. Brian
