Mark the quickest way is to replace the battery, generator and voltage regulator with your 12 volt pieces. Install the resistor in the coil line from the switch to the coil. I usually mount that resistor on the steering support post behind the engine where it is protected from the weather. Don't forget to swap your 6 volt light bulbs with 12 volt variety. I left my Hs positive ground for now.
