On my Super H I got my finger caught between one of the studs and a bolt hole in the head, while installing it. After much panic, I got my finger out, leaving a chunk of meat. Before going to the ER, I bled all over the place and hurried to torque the bolts, since I had sealer on the gasket. Forgot the spec and torqued to 80 lbs. After running the tractor a while, the torque setting was still 80 lbs. Unless you mashed the gasket, I think you are ok, just like my finger.
