I use any standard heavy Duty Hydraulic oil. I may not be the one to ask since mine was leaking all over the place. I replaced all the fittings and hoses this fall. With the cold weather it seems to be holding well.
Transmission oil, the same. If you are in Canada there is Canadian Tire which has a great range. I look for stuff designed for backhoes etc.
I use my 250 for everything from snow blowing, post hole digging, plowing and disking.
Great little machine.
