I have a Case International 4230 with a Cab. The fuel tanks are under the cab. It also has a Great Bend 440 loader on it. I have had trouble with it cranking after sitting over night. I finally found the problem, the little manual primer pump had the diphrams ruined in it and would let the fuel run from the injection pump and back into the tanks. It would finally crank after about 5 minutes of cranking. With the loader on it, it is very diffcult to access and use the primer pump because of the loader frame on the side of the tractor. I would like to install an electric pump on this tractor. I would like some advise from you IH folks on this, like what kind of pump brand name etc, also would there need to be a filter on the tank side of the pump, I did find some trash in the primer pump. Does the pump need to run all the time or could it be wired and just used as the primer pump, and let the check valve in it keep from bleeding the fuel off when the tractor is idle over night.
