If ever in Ia you need to stop in Boone. They have the last locomotive made. It was made by the Datong Locomotive works in China. It was lost during the Chinese revolution and when unloaded from the ship in the US was dropped. I believe the Datong works bought the rights to Baldwin. Regardless it is a really cool new piece of antiquity. Check out the site search Boon Scenic Valley Railroad

Today's Featured Article - Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
