The tractor is still a positive ground. It does not have a mag. I have tried running the tractor without the battery connected and it just quits. I know the older cars with an alt. will run without battery hooked up. I see there is a new fuse connector and amp guage in the tractor this is why I think somebody before me did some rewiring and got it wrong there. As soon a I get a half warm day I will trace the wiriring and see whats wrong and right. Now I have something else to wonder about. 1- Should a tractor be able to still run with a generator pos. ground no mag, and no battery cable hooked up after it is started? 2- Can a tractor run a 12 volt battery with a 6 volt gen.? it does seem to charge but I might be doing the testing wrong by sounds of it. 3- Why an I so confused? lol
