The Lift-All pump is set up for one way hydraulic (single acting) cylinders only. One side has only one pipe and the other side has two. Right side and left front side outlets are direct pressure while the left rear outlet is kind of indirect pressure which I will explain. This system was designed for lifting front and rear cultivators. A one way cylinder on each side of the tractor lifted the front cultivators and the third (rear outlet) lifted the rear cultivators with a 3rd cylinder. The rear has a built in delay in the pump so the front would lift first, then when the pressure built up in the front cylinders, the rear cylinder would lift the rear cultivators. You can't use this system as it is for a cylinder or motor where you need a return pressure line, like a duel acting (two way) clyinder or motor. You can add a two way valve for this purpose by using the outlet on the right side and putting a T in the oil fill pipe for the oil return. There is a small hole for a breather in the oil fill cap that has to be pluged when using a two way valve or you will get oil comming out of the breather hole. Then you lock the Lift-All pump lever on so you have constant pressure to the new two way valve. IH made a two way valve conversion package for the early H & M's. On later H & M's this package was an option from the factory. (Some times this valve is referred to as the Christmas Tree valve!) This option is showen in the late H & M and Super H & M Owners Manual. One bad thing with these pumps is they had only 800 pounds of hydraulic pressure which may or may not be enough pressure to run your grain auger motor. I think it would be worth a try.
Ken.

Today's Featured Article - Gatherin of the Orange - by Rick Nikolich. In July of 1998 I was talking to fellow Allis Chalmers collector Mike Schilling about the annual "Gathering of The Orange" AC show coming up in August of 1999. He got this wild idea that we should get a convoy of AC tractors and drive them from Charlotte, Michigan 105 miles to LaGrange, Indiana. ... [Read Article]
