If you are absolutely sure it is A-Okay at off idle and under pull (these things can sometimes fool ya), here's some ideas.

I'd really check for a vacuum leak at the intake manifold or carb base area. Also, are you sure your idle circuit in the carburetor is okay and functioning?

Also, a high dwell setting could cause your headache.

A burnt valve won't cause a discriminate idle miss; a burnt valve will make it miss all the time. However, a valve guide that is wobbled out can & will cause this symptom and could make it miss only at idle.
