Aces: Your right, 404 and 504 have the new type rockshaft with internal lift cylinder. Just looked at it in the IT manual. From the description I can't see how Phil is getting double action. Could it be that his 404 came from factory with no 3 point, and his hitch is an aftermarket hooked into a double action control valve with double action cylinders. The IT manual doesn't say but the valve looks same as those used on 504, 656, etc. in which case it would have a float position if lever were pushed further in the down position.
