How can I determine an old Farmall tractor's value

Hello.

A gentleman I know has asked me to sell his 1946 Farmall Cub tractor. I don't know anything about old tractors, and wonder if anyone can tell me how I might determine its value to give him a reasonable estimate? He thinks its worth $2500, I've seen the ads on this site and it looks to me as if it's closer to $1500, but I'd like to be able to give him a definitive answer and know what to ask if I place an ad here. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful. He said the tractor works fine, but isn't restored, and has a snowplow.
