Yes, your A will make a great little plow tractor. The tread pattern won't affect the useage, as long as you got good tread. None of my tractors have matching patters (use what we can get) but the tread is good. And we have had no problem with them. We get a lot of snow here in Central New York, and the A has been keeping the driveway clean faithfully for many years. I got a super A last year, and I agree that the hrydraulics are nice. My father uses pneumatic lifts (which work well for what he does with it) and I also have an A with hand lifts. All three do well. Have fun with yours. Oh, and I would definetly recomend tire chains, and a set of weights if you can get some. Even if you mount a box on the drawbar and add weight that way (my grandfather used to use lead).
