killing a 560

my brother-inlaws and i have my father-inlaws 560 good ole tractor works hard for us bailing hay , lifting and moving stuff around we were just wondering what was the proper way to shut the engine off . i mean father-inlaw used it for as long as i can remember with a a piece of electric fence wire tied to the injector pump was there supposed to be a kill cable cant see any sign of one being mounted laugh if you want but it works
