LT – Does your Super M has live hydraulics? If it does you can dispense with the belt drive pump entirely. Instead use a flow divider on the live pump to operate the Charlynn steering motor. We’ve got several Farmall, MM and Case tractors so equipped. The power steering works great even standing still and the motor idling. Don’t have live hydraulics? You don’t necessarily need to use a Charlynn pump. I’ve seen Charlynn PS setups run from Behlen, Cessna and Saginaw (General Motors) belt drive pumps. So long as it has adequate flow, pressure and reservoir capacity, any belt-driven hydraulic pump will work (If memory serves the Charlynn motor needs 2 - 3 gpm @ 1,200 psi)
