I have a book called Farmall tractors, written by a guy named Klancher. THis book describes how the farmall name and tractor came about. Farmall was patented on July 17, 1923. (a long time B4 me) It took many years for the Farmall regular to be "perfected". This book tells how the IH management finally gave approval and money to fund the project and Farmers had many choices of tractors from many different companies, about 200 in 1929 down to about 70 by the time the depression was running its course, and this book says that Henry Ford and IH got into pricing wars. This book goes from the Farmall regular to the F-series, F12, F14, F20, F30 and the letter series and the 100 series and ultimately the downfall of IH, Good book. Pick it up.
