Steve - I had a similar experience (probably from place you got yours...) with a box I got for my Super M. The box was out of square by 1/4" or so - had to perform some body work to get the cover to fit. But more frustrating was the tapped bosses for the 1/2-13 cap screws that hold the cover/seat base on. These were tapped to some mystery screw thread - nothing SAE nor metric would screw into them. I finally cut them off and welded 1/2" nuts in their place. OTOH the battery box I got at the same place for my Stage I Super H fit and worked fine. Only shortcoming is it did not include the rubber grommets/bumpers. But it was a simple matter to cob some up from materials I had around.
