Jeff, I don't know where yer at, or what how many acres ya got, or what the "lay o the land" is, but...When I bought my place, 28 acres of bare dir, there was a ravine filled with cotton wood, chinese elm, and small cedars between the road and where I wanted to plant the building site. I got in touch with the FSA-ASC office and had them survey the site. Came back that it was considered highly errodable, and a candidate for NRD matching funds. End result, tax dollars paid for over a 1/3 of my pond and the dam that is now an integral part of my driveway. Consider all options...
