I used a 3 point hole digger on my 140 with 3 pt hitch years ago. The hole digger was adjustable so that you could move the bracket on the rigid arm that goes in the top link hole of the tractor. Shortened that up and the 3 point lifted the auger plenty high. It worked great because I had down pressure on the auger and it would go right in even in hard soil. I do agree however, that the 3 point adapter for the 140 is somewhat limited. Not much lift capacity and shorter than normal lift as well as the short top link which limits things. However, it is a small tractor and you can't expect too much.
