The D-21 is a couple heat ranges "hotter" than the D-16. If your C is in good tune, does not use much oil and you work it reasonably hard (no extended idling or light load operation) the D-16's will work fine. However if you find the tractor soon begins to miss again, swapping them for D-21's should take care of the problem.
