The number after the R indictes a revised part. A higher number will fit. Depending on the specific change and where it is used, a lower number may not. In other words, an R2 should be able to replace any R1. But an R1 MAY not work any place an R2 was.

If your tractor is a '51 or '52 model, it is simply a Farmall Cub, no model number. Look on the ATIS Cub FAQ for more details and pictures of each version.
