what engine do I have?

I have a 41 H. The farmer I bought it from said he ran gas in it. So have I. I finally checked the serial number against the parts catalog and the serial number suffix is X3 (kerosene). I looked through the engine parts list section and can"t see any parts in the H engine which would distinguish gas from kerosene. Is there any difference between the kerosene and gas engine? Should I return to running kerosene if the X3 designation is correct?
