504 utility hydraulics

We just bought a "62 504 gas utility. The three point levers are the same as our 706 and have two wet line levers in front of them. As it is now, one must put the position lever in "up" and then pull a wet line lever up to make the 3pt raise. The arms go down without touching the wet levers. How can one use the 3pt levers themselves for thee point work? Many thanks for any help!
