Hi, I would not think so but maybe. Actually I would think it would be the other way around.
When you hand crank the trip works to change the timing so it doesnt kick back . Then when it gets up to rpms the trip cintrifiguly kicks out so it not wearing parts and you dont need it then. Kind of basic answer.I would check the timing and tune up before taking the mag off.If you need more help Just email me .
