On my C I cut the lines back from the pump about a foot and brazed pipe couplings on them so that I could add a remote valve. BUT, (and a big one at that) Im not sure if the pipes are silver soldered to the pump or not. I am a bit skeptical about silver solder being able to tolerate the amount of heat that a hydraulic system can generate. You can possibly tell by the color of the fusing agent if you clean it thoroughly with a wire brush. Brazing is usually a bronze or gold color and will not scratch with an awl or screwdriver easily. Silver solder is usually silver in color and is soft enough to easily scratch with an awl or a screwdriver edge.
