'U' designations were typically given to stationary power plants (ie: motor on a baler). They were named for the relative size U2, U4, U6... which corresponded to the C113, C152, C248 motors like were used in the C, H , M tractors. The castings were slightly different to acct for the starter motor mounting from the opposite way, but were similar enough that you could put a U2 on a C with one missing bellhousing bolt. About the time the Super and numbered series tractors came out they started naming engines with their size as 'C-123', so what you might be looking at is an industrial or power plant version of the C-135 engine which would be similar to a Farmall 404 engine. "Plink, Plink"... Stan(VA).
