10-20 carburetor

Two questions, I had to replace the cork float in my 10-20 carburetor. In doing so I took the opportunity to "chem dip" the carburetor. 1- there is a tiny round hole in the carburetor near the point on the underside where it attaches to the intake manafold two inches or so from where it attaches to the intake manifold. It is tiny and looks like it was put there. It now leaks like crazy. I plugged it temporarily with a match stick and all is well. Is the hole the result of a bad casting. If not what is it for? 2- I notice the choke butterfly in the carburetor is loose. It will have to be replaced/fixed next time I have the carburetor off. I noticed there seems to be a tiny roll pin or something that will ultimatley release the choke mechanism from the carburetor. How does one easily remove that tiny pin? It looks tough. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
