it sounds like my ih 100 balanced head mower. the belt runs horizontal, has a pto shaft coming off the back, no pitman stick, just a gearbox that runs the cutbar. in 1961, the 240 was current model but the 240 had no touch control arms that i know of. probably made for a super c or 200.
