He should be happy for you to haul it away. If you feel you must give him an offer, $100 is tops. I agree with the other poster that tractor is going to probably take at least $1,000 in parts, tires, etc. before you get to the actual restoration. Bodywork and painting alone is not insignificant. I restored a 1942 A about 3 years ago, and it wasn't in as bad a shape as the one you describe. I agree there is is a lot of satisfaction in taking an old hulk and making it new, but it is a tremendous undertaking as well. The A and B are particularly tricky to work on because of the tendency to fall over due to the weight distribution of the engine. Be careful when removing the real wheels that the engine is securely jacked and braced and make certain you get the cast iron wheel reinstalled on the right rear If you've never done one, I'd get this one for a parts tractor and get another one to restore.
