I�m curious as to why you would want to change to a spin-on filter. I had one on a 560 Diesel that I bought and converted it back to the cartridge type because it was such as hassle and mess to change. I may even still have the base for the spin on that was on it. If you are having trouble with it leaking around the top, make sure that the area the bolt goes through is flat, not depressed into the can and has a good copper gasket to seal it. After I got mine good and straight it quit leaking.
