I had a simalar problem with the cub cadet the kids use. the mower would run for a minute then kill. The problem was the needle would stick to the seat of the inlet valve. I got a carb rebuild kit and the new needle valve had a little wire that pulled the valve of the seat when the float went low in the bowl. Make sure you have that litte wire on your neddle valve.The orginal valve didn't have one. I hope that makes sense. LOL.
