Fred, There were quite a few Kerosene and/or distilate tractors from 1939 through 1945. They steadily dwindled in numbers after that. I don"t know if I would regard them as rare, although I have been to quite a few shows this summer, and havent seen any. I own a 1940 A kerosene model which makes me more on the lookout for one like it. As far as trying to sell the hood as a rare item, it would seem to me that if it were more rare than the gasolene type hood, that the market would be equally rare, which takes you back to square one. YOu may try listing it in the classifieds on this site and see what kind of response you get. What is probably more rare is the auxillary gas tank and the shutter assembly including linkage, as so many of these tractors were converted to gasolent only tractors and many of the auxillary tanks and shutter linkage got pitched.
