I had a similar problem on my SMTA. I couldn"t locate a 2 inch pipe tap so I got a 2" pipe nipple, cut across the threads in about 3 or 4 places with a hacksaw, perpendicular to the threads. I threaded it into the manifold, then unscrewed it, and back in a little deeper each time. I was worried about putting too much pressure on the manifold for fear of cracking it. It seemed to work on mine but yours might be worse. Worth a try anyway. I also put a handtowel with some grease on it below the exaust outlet in the manifold to catch any filings.
