There should be 2 hex nuts on the terminal post. One snugs the post to the insulating washers & case and the other attaches the battery cable. Remove the cable and inspection band; look inside (may need a mirror) and determine if you can tighten the nut securing the post to the starter case. Starter disassembly may be in order.
Be certain the insulator washer is in place so the battery cable isn't grounded to the case.
