First be sure the brakes are released!
5th gear is a high speed travel gear and usually you need to start in 4th and shift up to 5th after the tractor is rolling.
Quickly press in the clutch shifting to neutral and simultaneously idle the engine down. After a second or 2 shift to 5th & let out the clutch while increasing engine speed.
Takes practice to not grind the gears while upshifting. I used to be pretty good at it but would need a little practice to do as well 40 years later!
