Sam: I beg to differ with you on the statement," notorious for cracking." My guess is owners have been notorious in forgetting water freezes in cold weather. I have owned 6 of these tractors in my lifetime, still have 3 of them. Two of my tractors have seen very heavy workload. Until about two years ago I burned about 600 gallons of gas per year in them. I have never had a cracked block. I know of many more of these tractors, that have never had cracked blocks either.
