FARMALL H RADIATOR CAP

Hi: I just purchased my first red tractor. Everything else is Green. Seeing if I want to convert. Don't yet have parts or service manual (they are on order). The radiator cap is missing The serial # says it's an early 1940 model H. Comparing the cap to my brother in law's 1950 model they are different. Did someone replace the radiator or was there a separate cap for the early models? Mine screws down from the inside his from the outside. Also, was the pto shaft different on the older models?
