If I understand right where the wire you put in is where the spring goes so its the same as what you had to do as far as labor. I would make sure all conections are tight every where starter, Gen Or Alt,Distributor,Switch,And clean anything thats coroded. Then if you still have the problem check the switch or replace I mean.
