Try several of the farm supply stores in your area. One of them will have a supply of pitman (sticks) of various lengths. Take the old one along to compare the length. Frequently you will need to purchase a longer pitman, cut to length and drill the holes to match the clamps. If you want to try making one yourself, use hickery, ash, or a tight straight grained oak. No knots.
