How is your oil pressure ? The broken gear teeth do not sound good. My H has screen over the oil pump pick up. It would be hard for any good sized piece to get in. The oil ways are fairly small, so it would be hard for any size chunk to circulate and drop into the oil pan. The best diagrams are in your parts book. Either you can run it until it blows up or you can take the motor apart and have a look. Taking it apart now will be far cheaper than letting it blow.
