Used to mow 80 acres of CRP with a B and 5' brush hog. The B would handle the tall "grass" in low quite well, 2nd was out of the question.

Thermo-syphon. Suggest that the cooling system be flushed if you haven't done so. The therom-syphon system has a tendency to build up crud around the back cylinder liners. This caused scoring of the pistons.

Great little tractor, Wish I still had it.
