Friend just spent almost 4K to have the C153 in his 444 rebuilt, not cheap and they are not a sleeved engine. The BD154 diesel is sleeved and easier to get parts for. I have seen rebuilt short blocks for under 3K someplace though...Valu bilt maybe ?
Sheetmetal is hard to find for these tractors and most of the other parts can be a bit difficult thru aftermarket vendors, although CaseIH seems to still stock a lot of them.
