I had the same problem. You have to pull the distributer, take it apart all the way down to removeing the distributer gear and shaft. In side there is a worn o-ring. The manual calls it an oil seal but it is an o-ring that can be replaced. Get a shop manual that will give you a nice exploided view of all the internal distributer parts. Before pulling the distributer set it on the No. 1 cylinder so that it can returned there after you reassemble it. It worked on our SMTA, Good luck!
