Pat: Just wondering is there a chance either some forign object is making contact back side of dash. I'm thinking something like one strand out of a wire, giving enough juice to keep it running but not enough for start up. Could be something making contact when warm and not when cold. Wires would cool quite quickly after current stops. I don't think the problem is your switch, from what describe it is definately working. Something is transfering enough current to ign to keep tractor running. Have you by chance converted tractor to alternator using Bob M's diagrams? I had one of these that wouldn't stop months after the conversion. Light was the wrong power.
