When I rebuilt the engine in my C, the shop that I sent the head to didn't put new valves and guides in it.....said that they were OK but were a little worn and that if I should ever overhaul the engine again, that I should put new guides and valves in then.
When I first fire the engine up , I get smoke for a little while, but then it clears and no more smoke.
The pistons, rings and sleeves are all new so I guess the valves and guides are the cause of the smoke at start up.
