We have a gas 656 hydro. The gas engine is terrible, or at least ours is. Never runs right, and uses tons of fuel. The diesel would probably be much better. The Hydro is the best thing ever for loader work or running a baler, but if the hydro goes out it will go without notice and you will spend 3-5k to fix it. The hydro is also a very hot tractor to operate. The hydraulic tank is under the seat and the heat just kills you. All in all though I would say a diesel hydro would be a great tractor to fun and i would guess the top end value of a GOOD one at $6500.
