You guys are great! I shot some grease into the bushings that have the grease nipples, and almost instantly the steering improved. It appeared the bushing right below the throttle lever was dry as a bone, especially because the collar next to it had come loose so everything probably just dried up. I tightened that, crancked the wheel slowly back and forth a few times, and the steering is now ten times better than what it was.
